Ok, so I had a little too much time on my hands and I made a list of team names that I thought would be good considerations for pro sports because they seem to be a little desperate these days, having to settle for names like the “Oklahoma City Thunder”, which sounds like a double A team. What do you think of them? Akron Kennedys (named it after my last name and thought that it was actually unique and different, certainly nothing I’ve seen in sports before, and it sounds kind of classic to me. It has nothing to do with the Kennedy family) Baltimore Tamerlanes (referring to Allen Poe’s poem title, I know it’s plagiarism but the Ravens did it too) Washington Triangles (refers to the strange triangular shaped layouts found in Washington DC, it’s also a homage to the late Dayton Triangles) New York Red Herons (just thought that the name “Red Herons” was cool because I haven’t seen it used elsewhere before) Manhattan Giants (I believe Manhattan is the proper place to use the word “Giants” because of how large everything is in Manhattan, like its skyline and people like the Rockefellers and the Trumps) San Antonio Alamos (for obvious reasons, and it has a nice local feel to it, I think) Boston Knights (again, like the Red Herons, I haven’t seen the word “Knights” used very often is PRO sports, not sure what it has to do with Boston though) Pittsburgh Clippers (I know, the LA Clippers, but quite frankly the LA Clippers doesn’t make as much sense (if any) as the Pittsburgh Clippers, therefore Pittsburgh is more suitable for the name Clippers and it sounds better too) Los Angeles Orange (Los Angeles isn’t exactly in Orange County, however, greater Los Angeles happens to stretch into Orange County, so I thought that the name made some sense, and it sounds pretty cool. At least it’s closer to making sense and has more to do with the area than “Lakers” does) Iowa Expos (this one is pretty much taken from the Montreal Expos, however, Iowa is known for its fairs/expos, much like Montreal)...
